About health coaching
As the General Practitioner or Treating Allied Health Practitioner, you provide diagnosis and treatment plan.
In her role as a Health Coach, Sonja utilises evidence-based strategies from positive psychology, health and coaching psychology, behavioural medicine research, success coaching and athletic and performance coaching to support clients who are ready to create change to increase their motivation, focus and to identify and address barriers and challenges to bringing their behaviour change into fruition
The behaviour change goals are individualised and guided by the clients focus. They are based on the clients situation and may be related to lifestyle changes, adherence to medication/supplements and adherence to allied health treatment providers programs.
The agenda of each coaching session is defined by the client, who identifies the direction and their desired outcome of individual sessions. The sessions are a non-judgemental space with open communication which provide opportunity to explore challenges with compliance, to overcome ambivalence, to build internal resources and external supports and to give the client opportunity to become empowered in their health/wellbeing/fitness journey.
